A Somerset MP is involved in a council tax wrangle in the UK after allowing DJ Andy Kershaw to stay at her home.
Tessa Munt, Liberal Democrat MP, claimed a council tax discount for being a single occupier of her constituency home in Sedgemoor.
But bosses at Sedgemoor district council say the 51 year-old allowed two friends to stay at the house - GP Dr John Laband and BBC radio presenter Andy Kershaw.
At the time Mr Kershaw was wanted by Manx police over breaches of a restraining order preventing him from contacting his former partner.
Sedgemoor council says the MP shouldn’t have had the single-occupancy rebate because Mr Kershaw was registered to vote at her address.
Council chiefs say the single person discount cuts council tax bills by a quarter and Mrs Munt shouldn’t have been granted it.
But the MP, who was elected in May, says she didn’t break the rules and will fight the council's claim.
Sedgemoor district council leader Duncan McGinty says the local authority will pursue Mrs Munt for outstanding money, saying the police will be involved if necessary.
