CHIEF Minister Tony Brown MHK has held discussions with the new Minister of State for Justice Lord McNally.
Mr Brown described the talks as 'positive'.
The meeting in London on Monday continued the Isle of Man Government’s programme of political engagement with leading members of the United Kingdom’s coalition Government.
As part of his role at the Ministry of Justice Lord McNally is responsible for the UK Government’s relationship with the Isle of Man and the other Crown Dependencies.
The Liberal Democrat peer, who is deputy leader of the House of Lords, was appointed in May to serve at the Ministry which is now headed by Lord Chancellor Kenneth Clarke MP.
Mr Brown said: "The Island enjoys a strong relationship with the Ministry of Justice and it was good to have positive discussions around issues of mutual interest.
"Lord McNally knows the Isle of Man very well. He has visited us on a number of occasions in the past and we look forward to welcoming him back in the future.
"We will continue to engage with our counterparts in the UK to promote further understanding of the Island and reinforce the desire to enhance our international profile."
