Have Manx companies been involved in UN sanction busting?

by isleofman.com 21st July 2010

The UK says it will look into allegations that Manx companies have been involved with Iranian ships used to bust UN sanctions.

The allegations about arms shipments being sent to Sudan were made by the BBC following a slew of international stories about Iranian ships being re-registered by Island-based companies.

One of those in the spotlight of international attention was a firm where Ramsey Commissioner's chairman Nigel Malpass is a director.

He denies any wrongdoing.

Yesterday in the House of Commons, Secretary of State for Justice Kenneth Clarke promised further investigations.
