Launch delayed for Nicole

by isleofman.com 18th July 2010

The Island's adopted astronaut Nicole Stott will have to wait a little longer to get back into space.

Nicole is married to CEO of Island satellite company ManSat, Manxman Chris Stott.

The pair tied the knot at St Peter's church in Onchan.

Last year she spent three months on the International Space Station, during which time she carried out a space walk and a special live video link up with a group of school children on the Island.

She's due to go back into space on the penultimate mission of the Space Shuttle Discovery, before the entire fleet of vehicles is retired from service next year.

It was originally due to blast off in September .. but has now been put back to November 1st.

Nicole says this mission won't be a long one for her and she won't be venturing outside the vehicle - but the work is still important
