Award named in honour of First Deemster

by isleofman.com 16th July 2010

The Deemster Kerruish Award will be presented annually to the young lawyer who has shown most endeavour and progress in the preceding year.

It's seen as a small way to mark the passing of such a significant man and the society says all holders of the Award should be proud that their names will be associated with that of the First Deemster in the their annals.

They say few advocates commanded the affection and respect which followed Deemster Kerruish through his legal career - and still fewer members of any judiciary could lay claim to having been so thoroughly embedded in the hearts and minds of the legal profession of a community.
