Minor increase in unemployment

THERE has been a tiny increase in unemployment, the latest job market statistics show.

 

At the end of June unemployment stood at 794 - an unemployment rate of 1.9 per cent.

 

During the month 250 signed on and 248 signed off leaving an increase of two. Of the total unemployed 549
are male and 245 female.


A total of 554 vacancies were notified to the Job Centre during the month and at the end of the month 295 positions were still vacant and held on file.

 

The total number of people unemployed in May was 792.
