Bottles of spirits stolen during burglary at Douglas off licence

A NUMBER of bottles of spirits have been taken during a burglary at The Vineyard off licence in Prospect Terrace, Douglas, this morning (Thursday).

 

It happened at 02.55am and police from the Douglas Neighbourhood Policing Team are investigating.

 

PC Andrew Lee said: "The offender has used a large stone and thrown it against the front entrance, smashing the glass and gaining access into the property.

 

"I would urge anyone with any information concering this matter to come forward. The stone in particular appears to be a decorative/ornamental white marble or granite type and is quite unusual.

 

"Anyone who may be missing such a large stone from a garden or front yard is also urged to contact the police."
