by isleofman.com 15th July 2010

THE funeral of Deemster Kerruish, who died yesterday following a long illness, will take place in Lonan Church at noon on Friday, July 23.

The details were announced on a statement from Bishop Robert Paterson.

He said: "I am very sad about the death of Deemster Kerruish who passed away at Hospice Isle of Man.

"Mike was not only a personal friend but a great friend of this nation.

"And he was easy to admire because he wasn't governed by an agenda of self-interest, but by his interest in the greater good, and his commitment to the wellbeing of the Isle of Man.

"Mike was a great man of faith and, with his wife Marianne, has been an active member of the church.

"The Reverend John Guilford, the priest who looks after Lonan Church, has said how greatly Mike's active involvement there has been appreciated, and that he will be missed.

"We are all praying for Mike's family and John and I will be honoured to be with Marianne and their children, Daniel and Summer, as we take part in the funeral of His Honour Deemster Kerruish."
