Let 16 year-olds drink in pubs, says MHK

by isleofman.com 12th July 2010

Should 16 year-olds be able to drink in pubs on the Island?

Chief Constable Mike Langdon says it's an issue politicians need to consider.

He can see two sides to the argument – letting 16 year-olds into pubs could mean MORE drink-related problems, OR it might teach them to drink responsibly.

MHK Bill Malarkey is in charge of the Chief Minister's Drug and Alcohol strategy. He's believed for some time that 16 year olds SHOULD be allowed to drink in pubs.
