THE Isle of Man Aircraft Registry continues its impressive performance and during June registered the first Embraer Lineage 1000 in Europe.
The Lineage registered as M-SBAH is an ‘ultra-large’ business jet variant of the Embraer 190 Regional Jet airliner and is now based in the Middle East.
Now in its fourth year, the aircraft register showed a 63 per cent growth in new aircraft during the third year up to April 30 2010, compared to the second year of operation.
In total, 264 aircraft have been registered since the registry was launched on May 1 2007.
During the first two months of its fourth year another 21 new aircraft were registered. The Isle of Man register is now the fastest growing offshore corporate aircraft register in the world.
Director of civil aviation Brian Johnson said: "Both our continued strong growth during these globally financially difficult times and the high quality of aircraft being registered is testament to the enthusiasm and hard work of the registry team.
"I would also like to thank our airworthiness partners Baines Simmons Limited for the excellent support we receive with aircraft surveys.
"We look forward to enjoying another successful year providing our clients with superior customer service coupled with the reassurance that their aircraft are part of a register that adheres to the highest regulatory standards."
Department member with responsibility for the Aircraft Registry Alex Downie MLC said: "I would like to congratulate the team at the registry and their partners on this success and for continuing to provide a high level of customer service throughout this growth period.
"Their dedication and client focus is helping local companies benefit from the keen interest shown in the many advantages of registering an aircraft in the Isle of Man."
