A Rushen MHK has welcomed news the government will reconsider its vetting system after the UK announced it’s to scrap an anti-paedophile database.
The plans under Labour would have seen vetting introduced for hundreds of thousands of people – possibly including those who give other people’s children lifts to school.
However, the new coalition government says it’s scrapping the plans and last week during questions in the House of Keys ministers confirmed they’d follow suit.
Quintin Gill, who asked the questions, says he’s pleased to hear it.
