Castletown gas work nears an end

by isleofman.com 3rd July 2010

The majority of homes and businesses in Castletown have had their mains gas supplies fully restored.

'Towns' gas was initially cut off to around 740 properties on Wednesday afternoon, including some in Colby, after a valve collapsed at the Port St Mary production plant.

However, only 40 homes in Castletown now remain unconnected and acting managing director of Manx Gas, Robert Gardner, says work will continue this morning (Saturday) as engineers try and gain access.
