World cycling's biggest event gets underway at lunchtime with Manx star Mark Cavendish confident he's in good form and ready - after a difficult start to the season.
Cavendish is targeting the overall sprinters' green jersey at the Tour de France which starts with a time trial in Rotterdam.
That quest is fully endorsed by his HTC-Columbia team which has detailed four riders to support him.
Minister for Community, Culture and Leisure, David Cretney, says Cav's amazing performance in the Tour last year has left many wanting more this time.
