A former Manx educated governor says the change to the way the Island's next Lieutenant Governor is selected is a subtle one.
For the first time in the Island's history the next governor will be chosen by an all Manx group comprising the Chief Minister, the President of Tynwald and the First Deemster.
The advert for the job will appear in this weekend's Sunday Times Newspaper under the banner of the Isle of Man Government rather than the UK Government, as has previously been the case.
Sir Laurence New recalls well when his successor was chosen.
