Governor process change 'not needed'

by isleofman.com 2nd July 2010

'A bit of a non-event'.

That's how the Director of Information for the Celtic League has described the change to the selection panel which will choose the Island's next governor.

For the first time in the Island's history the next governor will be chosen by an all Manx group consisting of the Chief Minister, the President of Tynwald Noel Cringle and the First Deemster.

Tony Brown says it's a 'major step forward'.

But Bernard Moffatt believes a change to the process isn't what's needed.
