Gas restored to Colby - but work continues in Castletown

by isleofman.com 2nd July 2010

Work continues this morning to re-instate gas supplies to households in Castletown.

A fault in a valve meant more than 700 homes in the south of the Island were left without gas on Wednesday afternoon.

Engineers have been working over the past 36 hours to try and rectify the problem.

Gaining access to properties in order to carry out the work has been the biggest difficulty in some cases.

Acting Managing Director of Manx Gas, Robert Gardner, says most of the properties in Colby are now back on-line.
