Isle of Man TT hero Guy Martin to return to action on Tuesday

by isleofman.com 1st July 2010

FAN favourite Guy Martin will be back competing on a bike next week - less than a month after his big crash at the Isle of Man TT.

He will be taking part in the Hill Climb Challenge at Oliver's Mount during Scarborough Bike Week in North Yorkshire.

The hugely popular rider will be ringing a Martech GSXR1100 Suzuki at the first of three hill climbs being held during the bike festival week.

Guy said he was participating in the event on Tuesday, July 6, to help regain his confidence after his crash at Ballagarey during the Senior TT.

Guy suffered back injuries, broken ribs and a punctured lung in the accident on Friday, June 11 and was subsequently treated in Noble's Hospital, Braddan.

His bike burst into flames following the crash which led to the race being stopped so fire engines could get access to the site.

The Kirmington, Lincolnshire, rider will be back on Manx soil soon as he will be back racing on the roads for the Southern 100 which runs  from July 12 to 15 on the Billown Course in the south of the Island.
