King William's College hockey players to tour the Far East

by isleofman.com 30th June 2010

KING William's College senior girls' hockey teams will be leaving the Island today to embark on a two-week trip to the Far East.

The teams will be visiting places such as Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore to take on the local opposition.

In addition to local sponsorship the girls have been participating in various fundraising events of their own around the Island in order to raise money for their trip.

The events, including a cake sale, a sponsored hockey ball dribble from the college to Langness, an organised fun day featuring pig racing, soak the teacher and more, have helped them to raise more than £1,500 in total.

The trip to the Far East presents a new challenge for the girls, to whom classmates and staff wish the best of luck.

Team members and staff would like to thank sponsors Callin Wild, Agrimark and the Beep School of Motoring among others who have helped them to get this far.

Updates on how the team is doing will be posted on the King William’s College website www.kwc.sch.im throughout the trip with a direct link to their own website: www.kwcgirlshockeytour2010.com
