Island's deputy chief constable receives prestigious award

The Island's deputy chief constable has been given a special award for support and development of his staff.

Gary Roberts was chosen by Human Resources Development Specialists Cullen Scholefield as their "Candidate of the Year" after achieving Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

He was coached by the firm during the course, and submitted a special report at Masters degree level on "Well-being and the Isle of Man Constabulary" for which he was awarded a merit.

The firm's managing director, Maureen Scholefield, says he has many qualities which make him stand out in his field:
