Off-road biker injured in Kirk Michael crash

by isleofman.com 28th June 2010

Fire crews helped paramedics treat a motorcyclist after a crash in Kirk Michael yesterday afternoon (Sunday).

The rider crashed heavily on the track leading to the old Stockfield Road to its junction with the gas pipeline just before one o’clock.

The man suffered suspected neck, chest and back injuries and fire crews helped paramedics stabilise the man using oxygen therapy equipment and neck collars.

He was then lifted on to a long board and carried 300 metres to the waiting ambulance.

Fire crews are stressing it’s always preferable not to ride alone as shown yesterday when the rider was accompanied by his son who called the emergency services.
