Keys row over Iran allegations

There were short-tempered scenes in the House of Keys this morning during a discussion about allegations Manx companies were breaking UN sanctions.

Chief minister Tony Brown faced questions from Michael MHK David Cannan about American claims concerning Iranian vessels owned by Manx front companies.

Mr Brown told the house an investigation had shown no sanctions had been breached and the Island upheld the United Nations rules.

But when Mr Cannan pushed him further, Mr Brown accused him of helping to damage the Island’s image:
