POLICE are appealing for witnesses after youths caused damage to five stain glass lead light windows at St Joseph's Church, Willaston.
The offence happened at the church in Fenella Avenue between 8am last Thurday and 8am the following morning.
It is believed the youths threw stones at the windows to cause the damage.
Constable Charlene Dooley said: "This act of vandalism serves no purpose and has caused unnecessary expense to the church as the windows are costly to repair.
"I would appeal to anyone who has any information about this or similar incidents to make contact with me at Willaston Police Station on 674744."
