Motorcyclists pay their respects to Paul Dobbs at the TT Grandstand

by isleofman.com 21st June 2010

FAMILY, friends and motorcycle enthusiasts celebrated the life of TT rider Paul Dobbs at the Grandstand this afternoon.

Following the funeral service there was a lap of the TT course on open roads.

Marshals, fellow racers, riders and TT fans turned up to pay their respects to the man they knew as Dobsy and to accompany him when he lapped the TT course one last time.

Married father-of-two Mr Dobbs, 39, of New Zealand, was killed following a crash at Ballagarey during the second Supersport TT race on Thursday, June 10.

Those attending were asked to dress how Dobsy would recognise them so there were plenty of team shirts, leathers and marshal jackets on display.

Following her husband's death Mr Dobbs' wife Bridget said she had no regrets as "our lives have been immeasurably enriched by the TT and the Isle of Man".
