Oxjam live music event takes place tonight

OXJAM - a music extravaganza which raises money for Oxfam - will take place at the Cat With No Tail pub in Governor's Hill tonight.

 

It will be the fifth Oxjam event to have been held in the Island and the funds raised will aim to help the fight to overcome poverty in developing countries.

 

Blue John and Papa Cass, 'Mr Rock and Roll' Ray Sloane, The Hunters and The Heights will all be in action and Manx Radio's Bob Harrison will compere the evening. Admission is ?3.

 

Last year's event, which was also held at the Cat With No Tail, raised ?800.

 

There will also be a raffle and the evening starts at 7.30pm and runs until late. World Cup football will be shown in the public bar.

 

Sue Burnham, manager of the Oxfam shop in Castle Street, Douglas, has organised Oxjam along with Oxfam volunteer Tony Howell, known as Flash, who plays guitar in The Hunters.
