Boss calls for witnesses to contact police following burglary

by isleofman.com 16th June 2010

MANAGING director of CI News Peter Whittaker is urging anyone with information to contact police after a substantial amount of stock was stolen from a Douglas shop.

The Pickwicks Spar Shop in Castle Street, Douglas, was burgled between 8pm on Sunday and 6am on Monday.

Mr Whittaker said those responsible got into the premises overnight via an upstairs property and managed to get into the storeroom area.

He said: 'They would have been in the building a little while. Somebody must have seen or heard something.'

Mr Whittaker would not reveal the cash value of the stock or what exactly was taken, but did say it was a 'substantial amount'.

He urged anyone who may have information to 'please report it to the police or Crimestoppers'.

The police can be contacted on 631212 while the Crimestoppers number is 0800 555111.
