There are around 100 civil servants in the Isle of Man who have higher salaries than the chief minister.
The figure was revealed by chairman of the Civil Service Commission John Houghton, during question time in Tynwald.
Mr Houghton was asked if the commission would provide a list of names of the individuals concerned.
