WITH World Cup fever gripping the Island, IFG International Limited has created a competition for school students about the event.
It takes the form of a poster and there are questions to answer which will see students using their geography, sport, general knowledge and ITC skills.
IFG will be presenting two winning prizes, one for primary and the other for secondary school entries, once the competition has closed and been judged in mid-July.
In addition to the competition, IFG also had 300 footballs made especially for the World Cup and each school has received a quantity of them for their sports departments.
IFG thanked the Department of Education and Children who gave it full support with the initiative and kindly assisted in the distribution not only of most of the competition material but also of the IFG footballs.
Minister for Education and Children Eddie Teare MHK said: "Exercise forms a major part of our schools’ activities and the support of IFG will undoubtedly encourage more young people to participate in sport. The competition will generate more interest among pupils in the World Cup, too. Team games also involve thinking of others and working with them, which is an essential skill if we are to progress in our careers."
