Police investigate burglary at Douglas shop

A SUBSTANTIAL amount of stock has been stolen in a burglary at the Pickwicks Spar Shop in Castle Street, Douglas.

 

Police are investigating the offence which took place between 8pm on Sunday and 6am yesterday morning.

 

Detective Constable Karl Breadner said: "Police are pursuing various lines of inquiries, but we would like to appeal to the public for anyone who can provide any information they have in relation to this burglary."

 

The cost of the stock has not been revealed by police, but they described it as 'substantial'.

 

During the night the area was still fairly busy and police are urging anyone with any information to ring 631212 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
