Medis It's a Knockout deadline approaches fast

by isleofman.com 16th June 2010
TIME is running out for teams to sign up for this year’s Medis It’s A Knockout Challenge. The entry deadline is June 18th.

Medis is hoping to match the total of 30 teams which took part last year and, as in previous years, it is expected there will be a rush for teams to sign up in the final weeks before the entry deadline.

Now in its fifth and final year the day of wet and wacky fun and games has raised more than ?50,000 for Isle of Man charities. Being the last year of the event Medis is aiming for the 2010 edition to be the biggest and best yet.

Teams are made up of six to 10 members who compete in a variety of games based on the popular 1970s It’s A Knockout TV show. A specialist company is hired to run the event, and there will be some new games this time as a new firm has been brought in to run this year’s competition.

All of the teams which sign up must be prepared to get a soaking and the Friends Provident International team, one of the latest to sign up, have been getting in some practice for the big day.

This year’s event is at Noble’s Park on Sunday 11th July beginning at 1pm.

Competitors often bring their family and friends along to watch and there will be plenty of sideshows and stalls to keep them entertained when there’s a break in the action. Entry forms, including a fact pack giving full details of the event, are available from Emma Druggan at Medis on 692962 or email emmad@medis.is
