Douglas prom earmarked for improvements

by isleofman.com 12th June 2010

Schemes to improve Douglas Promenade are being looked at by the Island's new Director of Highways.

Richard Pearson took-up the top job in Highways in the spring, moving to the Island from London where he was business manager at a large engineering firm.

Mr Pearson says because of the economic squeeze, road upgrades around the Island and replenishing the Island's salt supplies after last winter will be priorities in the immediate term.

But he says there's a strong will in the Department of Infrastructure to do something about the state of the Prom, as one of the Island's main 'gateways'.
