Festival organiser prepares to welcome walkers

Hikers from all over the world will experience the beautiful Manx countryside when the Isle of Man Walking Festival gets under way on Sunday.

Over 170 walkers will be taking part in the event, which is now in its sixth year.

They will enjoy five days of walks, ranging from gentle strolls to much more rough and strenuous hikes.

Organiser Mick Salmon says there is a strong social aspect to the festival as well:
