POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an incident in the Sunken Gardens in Douglas on Wednesday involving wilful damage and the use of abusive language.
A man was arrested during the incident during which a fence was pulled down. However, the police want to speak to a group of for or five people who were walking through the gardens at the time and witnessed the man “unleashing a barrage of abuse towards the fairground staff”.
Pc Stephen Giddins of Lord Street Police Station said, “This type of abuse appears to be unprovoked and the language used was disgusting in nature. The fairground staff work hard for the enjoyment of both the local community and those enjoying the TT, such abuse will not be tolerated and I would urge those who witnessed this to come forward”.

THE Douglas Neighbourhood Policing Team is investigating an incident where an attempt was made to steal a motorcycle exhaust between 11.00pm on Saturday June 5th and 9.00am on Sunday June 6th.
The motorcycle was parked on Loch Promenade in Douglas. During the incident the exhaust has also become damaged.
PC Jenette Martin said, “Incidents like this are rare, and police are anxious to hear from anyone who may have been involved in, or seen the incident.”

POLICE are looking for the owner of a dog which was involved in a collision with a black coloured Audi A6 travelling along Lower Dukes Road towards Ballaquayle Road on Mad Sunday at around 12.30pm.
Just after the vehicle passed St Ninian’s Road ,a black and white coloured border collie dog ran into the road. The dog made contact with the side of the vehicle and then ran up Laureston Grove pursued by a male owner.
The owner is described as being 35-40 years old, of a medium build and wearing a sandy coloured polo shirt. The owner of the Audi A6 has made contact with the police who are now looking to speak with the dog owner.
