More concern over closure of mediation service

A senior consultant in mediation in the United Kingdom is expressing dismay at the news the Family Mediation Service run by the Children's Centre in the Isle of Man is to close.

Neil Robinson from the UK Family Mediators Association, who oversaw the work of the service and was responsible for training its mediators, says it has achieved many positive outcomes.

The Children's Centre says it can no longer run the service without a grant, but the Manx government wants to set up its own mediation service instead.

Mr Robinson says the Children's Centre service should not be dismanted as it has an excellent track record:
