“ENJOY yourself but take it easy”. That’s the theme of the message from police today as riders take their traditional lap of the TT course on Mad Sunday.
Last year there were 26 separate accidents on Mad Sunday, seven of which were classed as “serious injury” and four “slight injury”.
Police Inspector Mark Britton has appealed for all vehicles using the Mountain Circuit today to “please take care.”
He said, “We have already had a couple of minor slide off’s today and we want to keep the levels of injury low. We seek to make the whole of TT as safe as possible.
“Today a team from Bikesafe UK will be at the Creg ny Baa to give taster sessions on how to be safe riding a motorcycle. They will be at the re-named Bikesafe-Ny-Baa from 11am till 1pm. Please come along for a half hour talk on riding – starting on the hour.”

Meanwhile, police are appealing for witnesses following a theft of a motorcycle. A gold Honda C90 registration MAN 7166 ran out of fuel at approximately 4pm on Friday 4th June and it was parked up near to Kewaigue Primary School on Kewaigue Hill, Douglas.
The owner returned Saturday 5th at approximately 1pm to find that the motorcycle had been taken. The bike has a white fairing with three “Bushys” stickers attached to it, together with an R plate and a pitbike exhaust which should make it more noticeable.
Any reports, sightings or information as to the location of the motorcycle to PC Mark Robinson or any member of the constabulary on 631212.
