Motorcyle manufacturer celebrates TT anniversary

by isleofman.com 5th June 2010

An exhibition marking the first half-century of Suzuki's involvement in the TT is expected to be a big draw over the next seven days.

A display of machines, leathers and memorabilia tells the story of the Japanese manufacturer and some of its best known riders, including David Jefferies, Mike Hailwood, Bruce Anstey and Mitsui Itoh, the only TT winner from Japan.

Curator of the exhibition Matthew Richardson says the story of Suzuki and the TT is a fascinating one, and not just in terms of machinery and racing.

He says one particular story involves Ernst Degner (play audio file):

The 'Legends of Suzuki' exhibition continues at the Manx Museum throughout the summer.
