by isleofman.com 2nd June 2010
THE Department of Health’s “Volunteer of the Year” is Kath Quaggin who has given 600 hours of her time each year at Noble’s Hospital since 2004.

“Kath is always happy to undertake a variety of tasks and often takes new volunteers under her wing to help them become familiar with the role of a volunteer,” said Alison Lester, Volunteer Service Manager.

“She has dedicated time to supporting facilities outside the main hospital complex and has been a lynchpin in the development of new volunteer services.

“She is always happy to please and help people and when this lady visits, you can see the smile developing on the patient’s face. The Volunteer of the Year Award is our chance to say ‘thank you’ to Kath for all the wonderful work she does in the care of our patients.”

In presenting the award, the Minister David Anderson said, “It is a tremendous pleasure and privilege to present this award to such a dedicated individual, my congratulations and thanks go to Kath for all her hard work for not only this year but throughout her many years of service to the Department.”

Kath Quaggin said, “It is an absolute delight to receive such an esteemed award, I have thoroughly enjoyed volunteering with Noble’s Hospital and will be continuing, I would just like to thank Noble’s Volunteer Service for giving me this opportunity to help others, thank you.”
