Another arrest in anabolic steroids case

by isleofman.com 1st June 2010

There has been a further arrest as part of a murder inquiry in which an Isle of Man resident remains on bail.

Earlier this year, a 54-year-old from the Island was rebailed by police on suspicion of conspiracy to murder and perverting the course of justice.

Now a 48-year-old Welshman has been arrested following an early morning raid on a house in Gwent.

The investigation relates to the disappearance of 41-year-old Derbyshire businessman Paul Duckenfield in Essex, 21 months ago.

Although Mr Duckenfield's body has not been found, police believe he was murdered and the inquiry is linked to his involvement in the supply of anabolic steroids used by athletes and body builders.

Mr Duckenfield, who was living in Portugal, has not been seen since he flew into Stansted Airport on September 15, 2008.
