MLC says marina could be good for village

A marina in Port St Mary is not commercially viable but is worth having, according to the politician with responsibility for the Island's harbours.

David Callister, MLC, says the facilities in Peel and Douglas have brought in business to the towns, and thinks the same could be true for Port St Mary.

Plans for a ?45 million harbour improvement scheme, including a marina, are currently out for consultation.

Mr Callister says there is a waiting list for berths, which shows there is a tremendous amount of interest in sailing at the moment:
