by isleofman.com 30th May 2010

A stricken yacht sailing to the Isle of Man from Anglesey was towed in by Peel Lifeboat yesterday afternoon.

The 10-metre vessel experienced engine problems about one mile north of Contrary Head on the west coast of the Island, causing the lifeboat to be called out at around 3pm.

The Beamaris-registered Freedom Quest, with had three people on board, was on passage from Holyhead to Peel when contaminated fuel led to engine failure.

Coxswain Paul Jones was in command along with the other local volunteers and the yacht and crew were delivered safely into Peel.
