The news editor at Isle of Man Newspapers, Richard Butt, has been explaining why he took the decision to name one of the people arrested by police in connection with the ongoing proxy voting investigation.
Charles 'Buster' Lewin, the campaign manager for East Douglas by-election candidate Kevin Woodford, was questioned by officers on Wednesday.
On Manx Radio's Talking Heads on Friday, Mr Butt said the two potential stumbling blocks were contempt of court, or the possibility of prejudicing any future court case, and defamation, or libel.
He said on both counts the paper's lawyers gave the go ahead for publication:
