THE one-way system on the TT Mountain Road comes into effect tomorrow (Saturday 29th May), the date of the first TT practice session.
The road between Ramsey Hairpin and the Creg ny Baa will close at 10am and then re-open no later than 2pm as a one-way system, which will operate in the Ramsey-Douglas direction throughout the TT period and end on Monday June 14th.
The road will close to all traffic at 10am on June 14th and then re-open as a normal two-way traffic system from 2pm onwards.
The Mountain Road from Ramsey Hairpin to the Creg-ny-Baa will close one hour before the rest of the TT course for practice sessions and 30 minutes before the rest of the TT course for races. It will remain closed after the completion of practices and races for up to one hour after the rest of the TT course.
TT practice sessions will be held on May 29th and May 31st and from June 1st to 4th inclusive at 6pm each evening, ending no later than 9.30pm. The Mountain Road from Ramsey Hairpin to the Creg-ny-Baa will close at 5pm on each of these days and re-open up to one hour after the rest of the course (no later than 10.30pm).
Race Week – June 5th to June 11th:
Saturday, June 5th: The TT course with the exception of the Mountain Road from Ramsey Hairpin to the Creg-ny-Baa, will be closed from 11am until not later than 9.30pm. The Mountain Road from Ramsey Hairpin to the Creg-ny-Baa will close at 10.30am and re-open up to one hour after the rest of the course (no later than 10.30pm).
Monday, June 7th: The TT course with the exception of the Mountain Road from Ramsey Hairpin to the Creg-ny-Baa, will be closed from 10am until not later than 9.30pm. The Mountain Road from Ramsey Hairpin to the Creg-ny-Baa will close at 9.30am and re-open up to one hour after the rest of the course (no later than 10.30pm).
Wednesday, June 9th: The TT course with the exception of the Mountain Road from Ramsey Hairpin to the Creg-ny-Baa, will be closed from 10am until not later than 9.30pm. The Mountain Road from Ramsey Hairpin to the Creg-ny-Baa will close at 9.30am and re-open up to one hour after the rest of the course (no later than 10.30pm).
Friday, June 11th: The TT course with the exception of the Mountain Road from Ramsey Hairpin to the Creg-ny-Baa, will be closed from 10am until not later than 9.30pm. The Mountain Road from Ramsey Hairpin to the Creg-ny-Baa will close at 9.30am and re-open up to one hour after the rest of the course (no later than 10.30pm).
Postponements:
In the event of races being postponed, alternative road closures may be brought into force on June 6th, 8th, 10th and 12th.
Crossing places:
During the practice and race periods no person or vehicle may pass any barriers on to the course. If weather or other circumstances require races, practices or parades to be delayed or postponed, crossing places will be open under the control of police officers between races and in the event of significant delay to races or practices.
Where a police officer is present the following crossing places may be authorised between races or practices on race days:-

• Douglas, Stoney Road and Tromode Road
• A1, Douglas, Quarterbridge and Strang Road, Union Mills
• A1, Crosby Old Church Road, Eyreton Road and Ballavitchel Road
• A3, Barregarrow crossroads, Michael
• A3, Kirk Michael, Douglas Road Corner and the entrance to Faaie-ny-Cabbal
• A3, Station Road and Glen Road, Ballaugh
• A3, Sulby Glen crossroads, Lezayre
• Ramsey, Albert Square and Princes Road
• Ramsey, Lheaney Road and Barrule Park
• A18, Onchan and Douglas, Signpost Corner and Bedstead Corner
• Onchan and Douglas, Governor’s Road, Victoria Road and Second Avenue
