Constituent says 'every vote counts'

by isleofman.com 27th May 2010

The five polling stations in the Douglas East by-election have been open for five hours (1pm), leaving constituents with seven more hours to cast their votes.

The election was called a month ago and was triggered by the elevation of Phil Braidwood to the Legislative Council.

For this voter, who moved over four years ago, it was the first chance to take part in an election on the Island.

He says getting out to the polls is important for everyone (play audio file):

There will be live coverage from the count at Douglas Town Hall into Manx Radio's programmes this evening.
