Two men who made thousands of pounds from drug trafficking have been jailed for drugs and money laundering offences at a Court of General Gaol.
Thirty-five-year-old Mark Nelson was sentenced to a total of eight years and three months behind bars, and 28-year-old Alexander Charles Messenger was jailed for a total of seven years.
The pair were arrested on December 27 last year at Nelson's home in Douglas.
Police found over ?8,000 worth of heroin, which Messenger had smuggled into the Island from Liverpool at Nelson's request, and over ?300 worth of cocaine.
Both men pleaded guilty to the charges, which included the importation, supply and possession with intent to supply of drugs, and money laundering.
The prosecution said Nelson had banked over ?65,000 from his drug trafficking activities, and Messenger ?4,500.
Nelson's advocate said his client wasn't making any excuses. He had dealt drugs to feed his own addiction but was now clean.
Messenger's advocate said his client, also an addict, had acted as a drugs mule, on the promise he would be paid ?400.
The address for both men was given as care of the prison at Jurby.
