by isleofman.com 26th May 2010
POLICE have retained a man in custody as the ongoing investigations continue into the Douglas East bye-election.

The four people arrested and questioned yesterday were all released on bail. They were two women, aged 23 and 24 years respectively, and two men aged 47 and 49 years. They were interviewed throughout the day and released later.

However, this morning (Wednesday) the police say “a 54 year old man was arrested and is currently detained at Police Headquarters where he will be interviewed during the day.”

The Douglas East House of Keys bye-election takes place tomorrow (Thursday) and has been the highest profile bye-election in recent history. There are six candidates - Kate Beecroft of the Liberal Vannin Party, and independents Kevin Woodford, Colin Cain, Jon Joughin, Chris Heath, and Chris Robertshaw.
