Around 70 people attended a requisition meeting at the Corrin Hall in Peel last night.
It was called by Peel commissioner Roger Gimbert to decide whether the Water Authority's figures for two proposed options to deal with the town's sewage - either piping it to the Meary Veg treatment works or building an open sewage treatment plant next to the power station - were correct.
A report from consultants AERCOM appeared to cut the cost of a local works for the town and Mr Gimbert put forward a motion for a public vote to send the report to the government's Public Accounts Committee to see if it was accurate.
The meeting was chaired by Captain of the Parish John Kennaugh.
There were plenty of questions once again about whether the proposed sewage plant would emit any bad smells or release sewage into the Neb.
Peel MHK Tim Crookall says people are concerned that the right decision is taken to ensure their local environment is kept clean.
At the end of the evening a vote was passed agreeing that the public accounts committee would be asked to review the costing of the schemes.
