Steam Packet adds extra TT sailing

by isleofman.com 25th May 2010
AN EXTRA sailing has been added to the Steam Packet’s TT schedule to cope with an increase in demand.

Bookings are up by 8% and the decision has been taken to add an additional ferry sailing on Friday June 4th, one day before the first race.

Demand for peak time travel is continuing right up until the start of this year’s TT and the Steam Packet chose to respond with today’s announcement.

Working with Heysham Port, the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company has been able to secure an additional port slot for a fastcraft sailing departing on June 4th from Heysham at 0500 with an arrival time in Douglas of 0700.

Chief executive Mark Woodward said, “TT is always exceptionally popular and I am delighted that we have been able to schedule this additional sailing on what is one of the peak days.

“I would like to thank our staff and our operational partners for their commitment in ensuring that we can offer this further service to TT fans.”
