No immediate change to anonymous donors rules, says chief minister

It's not possible to change the law with regard to blind trusts before the Thursday's Douglas East by-election.

During House of Keys questions today, the chief minister was asked if the Council of Ministers would introduce a statutory order immediately so candidates' donors had to be named.

Tony Brown said while the issue of election funding had been referred "as a matter of urgency" to the Council of Minister's Governance Committee, nothing could be done before the by-election:
