Mountain Road closed ahead of one way system

by isleofman.com 24th May 2010

The Mountain Road is closed to vehicles between the Ramsey Hairpin and the Creg-ny-Baa today (Mon)

The road closed at 9.15 and will remain closed until 4.00pm today with the same closure tomorrow or until the TT preparation work is completed, whichever is the earlier.

The work is ahead of the Mountain Road reverting to one way traffic once again for TT 2010.

The system, from the Hairpin to the Creg was first introduced three years ago to improve safety and reduce the likelihood of head-on collisions on the Mountain during the busy period.

It will run from Saturday (May 29) until Monday, June the 14th.

The road will be policed 24 hours a day and hazard points will be coned off to help with traffic calming including at the Waterworks, Bungalow and Keppel Gate.
