Police name rider killed on Mountain Road

A MOTORCYCLIST who died  in an accident on the Mountain Road near the 32nd Milestone on Sunday has been named as Mark Leonard Codner, a 39 year old, from Maidstone, Kent.


Police released the name this afternoon (Monday). Officers in the Roads Policing Unit are still appealing for any witnesses to the collision to contact the Police.

 

The fatal collision at around 4.30pm involved three vehicles -  a black and orange coloured ‘Repsol replica Honda motorcycle, a blue coloured Suzuki Wagon R and a red Ford Fiesta.


The Suzuki and the Ford cars were travelling towards Ramsey and the Honda motorcycle was travelling towards Douglas.


The police say that the Honda motorcycle and the Suzuki car have collided resulting with the rider of the motorcycle receiving fatal injuries.


The road was closed for approximately 4 ? hours whilst police conducted enquiries at the scene.


At the time of the collision, the Mountain road was reported to be fairly busy.
