Pier decision: 'common sense'

by isleofman.com 22nd May 2010

The decision to spend nearly ?2 million on vital repairs to the Queen's Pier shows there’s clear political will to refurbish the Victorian structure.

Tynwald last week agreed to the move, despite calls from a handful of MHKs to demolish it.

The pier’s in urgent need of repair and safety work and there’s hope it can be fully restored once government finances improve.

Ramsey MHK Allan Bell believes common sense has prevailed.
